I had a friend share with me a quote she attributed to President Obama-- I’m still trying to verify that.
It was that two diametrically opposed truths can exist at once. And that led me to thoughts about how we are such complex beings and it is so limiting, frustrating, and unnatural for us to think and feel we can only experience one emotion at once or that we even should. And even if they are completely “opposite” emotions it doesn’t mean one is wrong or the other is right. They are both a true experience.
So I think they can be separate, simultaneously, and then both.
