The two that spoke to me, “Silence with Disinterest” and “Calm with Complacency”

In Navy, I’ve had people tell me I seemed aloof in many instances or situations because I remained calm or even keeled in situations in which they felt I should have either meet them in their level of excitability or had a bigger response in general.

What I explained to them is, why would I get riled up? How does that really serve the situation? It didn’t mean I didn’t care. But really neither my feelings or responses really mattered, what came next was most important, the how we go about solving the problem is always where I put my energy first.

Hahahaha well apparently I needed to get that off my chest and vent a little🤣 but yea those lines really jumped out to me.

We confuse them often when there are many other things that can fall between the two.

Knowledge vs. Understanding. I feel like that is a big one in today’s world. With so much information at our fingertips...we think we know more than we do. We could all use more understanding. And that doesn’t come from knowing more info. It comes from knowing more people. More perspectives. More experiences. More eyes. More hearts.
